If you own or manage an apartment building, commercial building, or industrial building than you certainly have many tasks that need to be taken care of on a regular basis. The good news is that we help take a bit of the burden off of your shoulders. In essence, you can check the following task off of your Grafton property management list.  If you have a catch basin that needs to be repaired we are experts in that area. So, how can you tell if your catch basin is broken and needs to be repaired or if you need to have a brand new catch basin installed at your property?

First and foremost, if you find puddles in the area where your catch basin is located and it hasn’t rained in a while, chances are high that it’s broken and needs to be repaired or replaced. In fact, one of your Grafton property management duties is to have your catch basins inspected in order to see if they are in good working order. When catch basins are broken they can cause flooding at your property and flooding in the surrounding areas. Although the condition of catch basins is not typically high on the Grafton property management list it is incredibly important.

This is due to the fact that you do not want to be held responsible for causing a flood. Chances are low that you have flood insurance on your property. So, if your catch basin is broken and causes a flood inside your building, the repair costs will not be covered. That means you will need to pay for those repair costs out of pocket. In addition, any possessions that is located inside or outside of the building that is destroyed by the flood is not covered. That means you will also need to pay out of pocket to replace those items or property.

Guess what? If your broken catch basin causes a flood that damages your neighbors property than you will also need to pay out of pocket to fix those damages and replace those items. Furthermore, if your broken catch basin floods municipal property than you will need to pay out of pocket to fix the damages. In addition, you may be in trouble with the Environmental Protection Agency. The floodwater could wreak havoc on the local environment. That means you may very well be facing hefty fines. The good news is that this can all be avoided if you have your broken catch basin fixed or replaced before it turns into a flooding situation.
