Did you know that commercial water jetting services are part of maintenance? If you own or manage a commercial building than you are well aware of the fact that if you take the time to take care of the structure, you’ll have far less problems in both the short and long term. So, what exactly is water jetting and why do you need it? First and foremost, water jetting is a technologically advanced method of cleaning the interior of your plumbing pipes.

So, why do you need to have the interior of your plumbing pipes cleaned at your commercial building? The answer is a simple one. It will go a very long way in preventing clogs from occurring in the sewer line. If you have a clog or multiple clogs in the sewer line the toilets will not flush properly. The drains in the sinks and other plumbing appliances will not drain properly. At first, it can be incredibly annoying. Eventually, the situation can turn from annoying to dangerous. For example, clogged sewer lines are the number one cause for raw sewage backups.

If the raw sewage cannot travel through the sewer pipe it will eventually back up until it starts flowing out through the toilets, sinks, showers, tubs, and other plumbing appliances. The good news is that when you schedule water jetting as part of your routine maintenance plan that will not happen. In fact, you should not experience any clogs that are caused by the buildup of materials within the drainpipes. However, it should be noted that clogs could still occur on an individual basis if items that are not supposed to be flushed down the toilet are flushed down the toilet. Toys are a good example of this.

If that does happen, you can schedule water jetting on an emergency basis to remove the item that was flushed down the toilet. So, how does the water jetting process work? A hose with a custom nozzle is inserted into the sewer pipeline through a pre-established access point. The nozzle sprays pressurized water at such a high rate that any buildup inside the pipes or stuck to the walls of the pipes is removed immediately. In essence, the inside of the plumbing pipes is scrubbed clean.

In addition, any clogs in the pipes are flushed out of the system with the highly pressurized water. Water jetting is a commercial application that should only be performed by a professional. The technician will take into account the age and condition of the pipes in order to thoroughly clean them without causing any damage.
