Did you know that the plumbing and sewer pipes at your property need to be cleaned on a regular basis? This may sound like a funny question to most people because plumbing and sewer pipes are typically located in areas that are hard to reach. For example, they are usually placed within walls and ceilings, and buried outside underground. Just because plumbing and sewer pipes are difficult to access does not mean that they are impossible to clean. Cleaning and maintenance is  especially important because a great deal of buildup forms inside those pipes.

That buildup can lead to clogs in the system that hinders water and raw sewage from flowing properly. In severe cases, the water and or raw sewage will back up causing floods. Water floods are bad enough, and tend to cause a considerable amount of damage. Sewage floods take that one step further. The materials in raw sewage are hazardous to your health. That means breathing in the fumes or coming into physical contact with the waste can make you or anyone near it incredibly sick.

The most efficient and cost effective way to clean the inside of your plumbing and sewer pipes is to hire a professional pipe jetting company. Pipe jetting works in the following manner. A specially designed hose and nozzle is inserted into the pipeline through an access point. The nozzle has the ability to spray highly pressurized water through the pipes. The water pressure is strong enough to remove the build up inside of the pipes, and blockages or clogs that have formed inside the pipes as well.

The water pressure is set at a level that is not strong enough to cause damage to the pipes. The nozzle has another function as well. It sprays water in the reverse direction in order to ensure that the water and materials drain out of the water and sewer pipes so that it can be properly disposed of. Typically speaking, the water and debris either enter into the sewer main where it travels to a wastewater facility, or a septic tank located underground at the property.

On a side note, septic tanks should be emptied by a professional environmental company on a regular basis. Otherwise they will overflow and flood the surrounding area with raw sewage. Pipe jetting is similar to washing your automobile with a pressure washer. The highly pressurized water literally scrubs away any debris that is clinging to the inside walls of the plumbing and sewer pipes. That being stated, a pipe jetting machine should only be used by an experienced technician that has the training and knowledge to properly operate the equipment.

Otherwise, you are taking the risk of causing damage to the property and or the operator. The good news is that hiring a professional pipe jetting specialist is far more affordable than you may be thinking.
