The holiday season is fast approaching. That means you may be cooking holiday meals, or even hosting holiday parties. Typically speaking, you will also have more visitors than other times of the year. In essence, there will be a significant amount of people in an out of your home. That can take its toll on your sewer system. Think about it in the following manner. More people are using the sinks and toilet. Your guests may even be pouring things down the drains, or flushing items that they should not be. Not to mention that your dishwasher and or washing machine are working overtime.

The good news is that you can prevent any sewer related problems from occurring during the holidays and throughout the year by having a sewer camera inspection service performed on a regular basis. This premise is fairly simple. A professional technician will show up at your home or place of business at the day and time that you previously scheduled. He or she will insert a tiny, waterproof video camera into the sewer system through an established outlet. The video camera is attached to the end of a flexible cable that is fed or snaked through the sewer pipes.

The camera both records and broadcasts the video footage back to the technician where it can be viewed on a portable electronic device such as a lap top computer, tablet, or even a smart phone. As the sewer inspection video camera is being fed through the system it is both recording and broadcasting crystal clear high-definition images of each and every square inch of the interior of the pipes. In essence, it is as if the technician is looking directly into the pipes and has the ability to walk through them for the inspection.

If the sewer pipes are blocked or broken, the technician is able to detect these major problems immediately. Although it may not be good news, at least the issues are discovered and can be fixed before they turn into serious problems such as sewage flooding into the street or even entering into your home. That could certainly ruin a holiday celebration, and of course is a nasty health hazard. You may even need to evacuate the house until the raw sewage is cleaned up, and the plumbing/sewage problem is fixed. You simply cannot stay in your home if the sinks do not drain and the toilets cannot be flushed.

If the technician discovers any minor issues, they can be repaired before they turn into major and far more costly issues. For examples, the technician may discover small blockages and or cracks in the pipes that can be easily fixed. In many cases, these small issues do not require immediate attention. They can simply be noted, and tracked with future sewer video camera inspections. For example, if the technician discovers a tiny crack in the pipe that does not need to be fixed right away, they will schedule a sewer camera pipe inspection for six or twelve months down the road.

The technician will then be able to compare the two inspections side by side. If the tiny crack is growing, it can be fixed at that point. However, if the tiny crack is the same as the previous inspection, it can be tracked with future inspections until the point that it requires repair. In a best-case scenario, the technician will not discover any problems or potential future problems. When your sewer system is given a clean bill of health, you can rest easy knowing that there are not any issues brewing within the pipes.
