Did you know that root removal is the solution to many sewer system related problems? Are you having any issues with the sewer system or drainpipes at your residential, commercial, or industrial building? If so, you may very well have tree roots to blame. You see, tree roots can easily invade into the main sewer line that is buried underground at your property. You wouldn’t think that something as large as a tree root could enter into a sealed sewer pipe, however it happens on a constant and consistent basis. This is due to the fact that a great deal of sewer lines has microscopic holes in them.

This holds especially true if the pipe is on the older side and made out of materials that tend to crack, decay, rot, and or rust over time. In addition, large tree roots do not start off as large tree roots. They actually begin their lives as tiny tree roots before they grow into large tree roots. So, here’s what happens. These tiny tree roots seek out the nearest water source and food supply while they are growing in the ground. The raw sewage contained within the sewer pipes is the perfect source of water. Raw sewage is also the perfect food supply, which is known as fertilizer in the plant world.

The bottom line is that the tiny roots enter into the microscopic holes in the sewer pipes. With all of the water and fertilizer that the raw sewage provides, it does not take long for the roots to grow inside of the sewer line. Before long, the roots grow into a tangled mess that at first will slow down the flow of raw sewage through the pipes. At that point you’ll start experiencing problems with the your sewer system and plumbing appliances. For example, the toilets may be slow to flush, or the water in the sinks takes longer to drain.

Eventually, the tree roots will completely block the sewer pipes. At this point you’re facing the potential for major sewage system related issues. For examples, if the raw sewage cannot pass through the pipes it will back up through the pipes in the wrong direction. That means raw sewage could actually enter into your property through the toilets, sink drains, shower drains, and tub drains. That is a mess and a nightmare that you certainly do not want to deal with.

The good news is that root removal can be easily done as soon as part of your regular property maintenance program and or as soon as anyone notices that there is a problem with the sewer system.
