Video Sewer Pipe Inspections

Did you know that sewer pipe video camera inspections pinpoint the problem? There are ways to tell if you’re having an issue with your sewer pipes. First and foremost, the toilets in the facility will have difficulty flushing. In addition, water won’t drain down the drains properly. You may even begin to smell sewer gas and see signs of raw sewage and waste water in the form of puddles in the basement and or around the grounds of the property. However, a sewer pipe video camera inspection is the only accurate and cost effective way to find the exact location of the problem within the sewer pipeline.

So, how does it work? First and foremost, you need to schedule an appointment with us. We will send a technician to your property who has the skills to conduct the inspection. The technician will begin the process by inserting a flexible cable with a tiny waterproof video camera on the end into your sewer pipes through a previously established access point. The technician will then feed the cable and video camera through the pipes. As the cable and video camera is traveling through the sewer pipes it’s recording the footage. It’s also broadcasting the footage back to the technician in real time.

The technician is viewing the footage on a laptop computer or handheld electronic device such as a tablet or smartphone. That way, he or she can see exactly what is going on inside of the sewer pipes. When the technician discovers a problem, such as a cracked or broken pipe,  he or she will pinpoint the exact location within the pipeline through GPS. That way, the repair person can go back and locate the problem with ease. In essence, the repair person doesn’t need to do much demolition or excavation in order to reach and fix the issue.

Before sewer pipe video camera inspection technology became readily available, a lot of demolition and or excavation had to take place just to locate the problem at hand. That added time, and money to the repair project. Sewer pipe video camera camera inspections also come in handy if you’re purchasing a property. That way you can see the actual condition of the sewer pipes prior to committing to the purchase. Many property owners schedule an appointment as part of their routine property maintenance program. The bottom line here is that it’s better to discover sewer related problems when there’s still time to fix them before they turn into a major situation.
