Did you know that sewer system video inspections could help avoid major issues with your drain pipes and main sewer line? In essence, they are the only way to see what is going on inside the sewer pipes at your commercial, industrial, and or residential property. That is why we highly suggest that you schedule a sewer system video inspection on a regular basis as part of your property maintenance plan. Just because the topic of sewage pipes and the raw sewage and waste materials that they carry inside of them is an unpleasant topic, it certainly doesn’t mean that it can be ignored.

When your property ages there are some visible and obvious signs that it needs to be maintained. For example, the exterior paint may start to peel, or the wood flooring becomes scratched and scuffed. However, there are other things that need your attention as your property ages that are not so obvious. Your sewer pipes are the perfect example of this. Oftentimes older sewer pipes will begin to crack or break apart. There may be blockages in the pipes due to the buildup of debris, or tree roots may have invaded the main sewer line that’s buried underground.

Although all of these situations are detrimental to the performance of your sewer pipes, and tend to cause major issues when left untreated, you simply can’t see them occurring. It’s not like you have X-ray glasses and can see through the walls, ceilings, and floors inside of your property, and below the ground outside of your property. However, sewer system video inspections act like X-ray glasses. In essence, they enable a technician to literally see exactly what is going on inside of your sewer pipes.

So, how does it all work? Our experienced technician will insert a flexible cable into your sewer pipes. There’s a high-definition video camera attached to the end of the cable. The technician feeds the cable through the pipes. As this is happening, the video camera is broadcasting crystal clear footage back to the technician. The footage is viewable on any laptop or handheld electronic device such as a tablet or smartphone. The video camera is also recording the footage.

The technician is trained to see any and all issues that are happening within the sewer pipes. The sewer system video inspection not only locates any problems, it also records the exact location within the pipeline. That way the repair technician can easily find the area that needs to be fixed without making any unnecessary holes in the walls, ceilings, floors and exterior of your property.
