Oh no. You have a clogged sewer line in a building that you own or manage, or worse yet at your home. This is not a good situation. In essence, it means that you are taking the risk of having a real problem on your hands unless you have the clogged sewer line repaired sooner rather than later. In a best-case scenario the toilets and drains in your sinks will begin to make funny noises. This is due to the fact that you have a clogged sewer line and the wastewater and raw sewage cannot travel through the pipes in the proper manner.

You or your tenants may even begin to notice bad odors emanating from the toilets and sinks. This is due to the fact the sewer gas is building up within the clogged sewer line, and sewer gas tends to escape the pipes and enter into the property thought the toilet and sink drains. As if that isn’t bad enough, the next step is far worse. When a clogged sewer line becomes so clogged that neither water or raw sewage can travel through the pipes any longer, the wastewater and raw sewage will try to escape from the clogged sewer line.

So where does the wastewater and raw sewage travel to? First and foremost, the wastewater and raw sewage tends to travel to its easiest escape route. Unfortunately, that easy escape route is typically the toilets and sink drains. Do you know what that means? You are not going to like this answer. It means the wastewater and raw sewage will begin to back up directly into the property through the toilets and sink drains. Yes, you read that correctly. Wastewater and raw sewage will back up from the clogged sewer line and enter into the property, including your basement, kitchen, and bathroom through the toilets and drains in the sinks.

The bottom line is that you will be dealing with a wastewater and raw sewage flood. In a worst-case scenario the clogged sewer line has built up so much pressure that the wastewater and raw sewage will explode out of the toilets and sink drains. That means it will cover the walls, floors, ceilings, and basically everything in its path.

In addition to the cleanup, the toilets and water will be out of service until the clogged sewer line is repaired.
